COMPARATIVE INVESTIGATION OF CLASSROOM TEACHER TRAINING SYSTEMS IN TURKEY AND IRAN


The aim of this study is to compare classroom teacher education systems of Turkey and Iran in terms of entry and graduation requirements of program, teaching processes, evaluation systems and the conditions of being a teacher, courses and their credits. The study was conducted with descriptive comparative educational research model and horizontal comparison which is a comparative investigation technique was used in this study. In this descriptive study the data was collected by document analysis method and the data was analyzed using interpretive analysis. As a result of this study it was found that there are similarities between the classroom teacher training programs implemented in Turkey and Iran in terms of the conditions of entry into the program, teaching-learning processes and evaluation systems and the conditions for being teachers. On the other hand it has revealed that teaching practices, professional teaching knowledge and general cultural courses has gained more importance in İranian classroom teacher training program more than Turkey classroom teacher training program. Furthermore the Iranian classroom teacher training program is more intensive in terms of courses such as project, research and development, program development and design of learning unit.
