Bu araştırmada, Antik Yunan filozofu Sokrates’in Sokratik bilgelik paradigmasının ve metodolojisinin eğitim-öğretim ortamlarına ve süreçlerine uyarlanmasının önemine vurgu yapılmış ve ne gibi etkilerinin olduğunun ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden belgesel tarama ve fenomenolojik yöntem yaklaşımlarıyla gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmada, Sokratik sorgulamanın öğrenciler, öğretmenler ve öğretim programları üzerindeki yansımalarının ve sınırlılıklarının neler olduğuna dair birtakım incelemeler ve değerlendirmeler ortaya konulmuştur. Araştırmanın sonucunda Sokratik sorgulamanın, öğrencilerin düşünme becerilerini geliştirdiği ve akademik başarılarını arttırdığı, öğretmenler için etkili bir öğretim yöntemi olduğu ve öğretim programlarındaki hedeflere ulaşma konusunda destekleyici olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bununla birlikte, Sokratik sorgulamanın fazla zaman alması veya öğrencilerin yanlış cevap verme endişesi taşıması gibi birtakım sınırlılıklarının olduğu, ancak bu sınırlılıkların, öğretmenlerin etkili bir sorgulama becerisine sahip olmasıyla aşılabileceği de ifade edilmiştir.
This research emphasizes the importance of adapting the wisdom and methodological paradigms of the ancient Greek philosopher Socrates to educational environments and processes, and aims to reveal their impacts. This study, conducted using documentary and phenomenological approaches within the context of qualitative research methodologies, presents several analyses and evaluations regarding the impacts and limitations of Socratic questioning on students, teachers, and curricula. The study concludes that Socratic questioning improves students' thinking skills and increases their academic achievement, is an effective teaching method for teachers, and supports the achievement of curriculum objectives. However, it is also noted that Socratic questioning has some limitations, such as being too time-consuming and triggering students' anxiety about giving incorrect answers. However, these limitations can be overcome by teachers possessing effective questioning skills.
