Bu inceleme Kıbrıs Türk söz varlığı üzerinde yapılmıştır. İncelemenin amacı Kıbrıs ağızlarındaki ikili biçimleri incelemektir. İkili biçimler aynı kökten gelirler ve aynı anlamı ifade ederler. Bazen de yakın anlamlar taşırlar. Buna rağmen sesçe birbirlerinden ayrılırlar. İkili biçimlerin ortaya çıkış süreçleri, dilde yerleşme biçimlerine ve kullanımlarından kaynaklanan değişmelere bağlıdır. Kıbrıs ağızlarının, başka dillerle teması ve gösterdiği değişmeler ikili biçimlere ortam hazırlamıştır. Kıbrıs Rumcasıyla doğrudan temas ve İtalyanca, Eski Yunanca gibi dillerle Kıbrıs Rumcası üzerinden kelime alma ikili biçimlerin meydana gelmesinde etkili olmuştur. Ayrıca eşanlamlılık ve ikili biçimler arasında bağlantılar ile ayrımlar sorgulanmıştır. Neticede ağızlardaki şekillerin değişme başlığıyla ele alınmasının her zaman yeterli olmadığı gün yüzüne çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır.
