Bu incelemede Kıbrıs Türk halkının doğal yaşamda hayvanlara verdiği adlar kavram alanlarına göre değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca bu adlar Türkiye Türkçesiyle karşılaştırılmış, benzerlikler belirlenmiştir. Tüm bunlar yanında, belirlenen sözcüklerin standart dilde ve zooloji bilimindeki adlarına da atıf yapılmıştır. Büyükbaş ve küçükbaş hayvanlar, kümes hayvanları, kuşlar, sürüngenler, tatlı ve tuzlu su canlıları vb. belirlenerek bunlara dâhil olan hayvanların adlandırılmasında izlenen yollar saptanmıştır. Böylece, Kıbrıs Türk halkının doğayı gözleme ve buradaki canlıları adlandırmadaki eğilimleri belirlenmiş, konu dâhilinde etkileşime geçtiği kültürlerden ne kadar etkilendiğine cevap aranmıştır.
