Abstract

PERSONAL AND TENSE SUFFIXES IN DIALECTS OF YATAGAN REGION
The Yatagan dialects in Western Anatolian group of Turkish dialects are one of the best protected Turkmen-Yoruk dialects. In this study, the verbs which are deteced in the texts compiled from the ten neighborhood connected to Yatagan district center (Bagyaka, Çallı, Deştin, Gökpınar, Hacıbayramlar, Madenler, Katrancı, Şahinler, Turgutlar, Zeytinköy) were examined. According to this, some of the possessive suffixes used in the local dialects are partly separated from the literary language. Suffixes of the perfect and past perfect tense (-dI, -mIş) are standart. The different forms of present tense are distinctive for local dialects. Three different types of present continous tense forms were identified in the Yatagan dialects. The first is -yō and -yoru variants of -(I)yor suffix in the literary language, which is used in the district center and in almost all the neighborhoods. In certain settlements, combined structures are used such as -I+batı(r) / +vatı(r) and/or -(I)p + dur-u. The last voice of the simple present tense(-r) was disappeared regularly except for the first persons. Suffix of future tense has taken the form of -cek in the third person, in the other persons it shortened and turned into -ce in result of disapperance of /-k-/.
