İnsanların doğa ile bağlantısı olan sanat, içinde barındırdığı çeşitli dallar aracılığı ile güncel yaşama ayna tutmaktadır. Önce dil olarak, daha soyut, sonra ritüel ve sanat olarak daha amaca yönelik bir tarzda ortaya çıkan kültürün işlevi, manevi ve toplumsal kaygıları yapay bir şekilde gidermeye çalışmaktır. Brecht’in oyunundaki Puntila ve Kemal Sunal’ın canlandırdığı Şaban karakterleri; günlük yaşamda giderek baskın hale gelen kaygı, bunalım, sıkıntı, yalnızlık, mutsuzluk gibi olguların ardında, her şeyin farklı olabileceği düşüncesini aktarmaya çalışırlar. Bu karakterler, uygarlığın güçlüklerine göğüs gererek ayakta kalmayı başaran muhteşem bir canlılığın ve duygu berraklığının göstergesi olan gülme olgusuyla izleyiciye seslenmişlerdir.

Art, which is the connection of the peoples with the nature, with various arms in it, it holds up a mirror to the current life. Firstly came up as a language and then little more abstract and as last turned into a rituel, art, aimed to fulfill the spiritual and societal needs of the society. Puntila at the play of the Brechet, Şaban acted by Kemal Sunal trying to show that things can be different despite the slow growing of anxiety, depression, boredom in the daily life of the society. These characters, confronts the difficulties of a civilization and stands as strong they are, shows the magnificent aliviness of a laughter and the emotion lucency to the watchers/receivers.
