Bu çalışmanın amacı, tarihsel süreç içerisinde Türk Spor Yönetim yapısını kronolojik bir sıralama ile incelemek ve Türk Spor Örgütlenmesini tek kaynakta toplayarak spor bilimi literatürüne katkı sağlamaktır. Bu nedenle ilgili literatür taranarak bazı başlıklar altında konular ele alınmıştır. 1938 yılında 3530 sayılı kanunla merkezde Beden Terbiyesi Genel Müdürlüğü olarak kurulan ve taşrada Beden Terbiyesi Bölge Müdürlüğü olarak adlandırılan kurum, 1986 yılında ise 3289 sayılı kanunla bazı yeniliklerle revize edilerek Beden Terbiyesi ve Spor Genel Müdürlüğü adını alan, 1989’da ise GSGM olarak adı değiştirilen, bağlı bulunduğu kurum değişse de genel mevzuatında, merkezi ve taşra yapısında, büyük bir değişiklik yaşanmayan bu güzide kurum, 2011’de ikinci kez kurulan Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığına bağlanarak, Merkezde Spor Genel Müdürlüğü (SGM) adıyla, taşrada ise Gençlik Hizmetleri ve Spor İl ve İlçe Müdürlüğü ismiyle işlevini sürdürmektedir.
The purpose of this study is to examine the structure of Turkish Sports Management in chronological order in the historical process and contribute to the literature of sports science by gathering Turkish Sports Organization in one source. The central organization established in 1938 with the act 3530 with the name of the Physical Training General Directorate known as Physical Training Regional Office in the urban areas was revised in 1986 with the act 3289 and affiliated a new institution as Physical Training and Sports General Directorate without significant changes in its basic duties. The organization was subjected to a final revision and affiliated to newly established Youth and Sports Ministry in as a new name Sport General Directorate in the center and Youth Services and Sports Regional Directorate in urban areas 2011.
