“General climate characteristics of Bolu basin” a consisting of Bolu plain and high areas framing it climate characteristics that constitute the research subject. The climatic characteristics of the Bolu basin are one of the factors that play an important role on both the physical and geographic features of the site. Therefore, the climatic elements in the research area were evaluated separately and the general climate characteristics of the basin were tried to be revealed. Due to the elevation differences, it is certain that there are large differences in the temperature and precipitation conditions between the basin base and the relatively high areas around it. For this reason, the data of Bolu meteorological station were used while trying to determine the general climate characteristics of the basin. When the climate elements are evaluated together, the summer season is short, hot and semi-arid; cold and rainy in winter; snowfalls and frost gathered in winter and around months; it can be said that there is a climate in which rainfall maximum is in winter and spring seasons and rainfall in winter is generally in the form of snow. The results of the applied climatic classification formulas reveal similar climatic characteristics.
