AN UNKNOWN SCHOLAR FROM THE HARPUT CLERİAL: DELLALZADE MÜFTÜ HACI MEHMET EFENDİ


Harput, which is an important settlement center in every period of history, has been a science and wisdom nest of its region. From Harput, which a distinguished example of Turkish culture, many spiritual personalities, scientific and literary figures, composers and musicians, military and political figures have been trained throughout the centuries. One of the scholarly and spiritual figures trained by Harput is Dellalzâde Mufti Hacı Mehmet Efendi. Dellalzâde Müftü Hacı Mehmet Efendi was born in 1805 in Harput. After his life of education in Harput and Istanbul. He was appointed as a professor of Suleyman Pasha Medrese in Harput. In addition to his duty as a professor, he served as the Mufti of Harput and the Mamuretülaziz Province for many years. Meanwhile, he has trained many students. Dellalzâde Mufti Hacı Mehmet Efendi died in 1900 in Harput. In this study, it will be tried to explain the life of Dellalzâde Mufti Hacı Mehmet Efendi, one of the most important professors and writers who grew up in Harput in the 19th century, and his place in the Harput Clerical.
