Mixed words have been formed by combining words or suffixes belonging to a certain language and words or suffixes of another language. It is possible to encounter mixed words in the languages of the nations which have begun to dealt with other nations in terms of political, cultural, economic and technical relations instead of keeping introverted in their borders. The formation of mixed word is often seen in standard Turkish, on the other hand, it is possible in Tukish dialects, but the phonetic change of these words due to the dialects is pretty much in comparison to Turkish. Erzincan dialect is one of the Turkish dialects which have an extensive vocabulary thanks to mixed words. In this study, the vocabulary of Erzincan dialect has been analyzed on the basis of word+Turkish word; Turkish word+foreign word/suffix; foreign word+Turkish derivational affix and foreign element/prefix+Turkish word. As a result of the study, the usage of mixed words; their structures, origins and meanings have been given in detail and the function and the prevalence of mixed word construction have been revealed in Erzincan dialect.
