THE INFLUENCE OF JOB INSECURITY PERCEPTION ON EMPLOYEES' JOB BURNOUT


Job insecurity is the concern of employees losing their jobs. Burnout is the mental fatigue that employees experience at work. Job insecurity threatens organizations as a factor that raises employees' burnout levels. For this reason, the study addresses the relationship between employees' perceptions of job insecurity and job burnout. The data were collected through a questionnaire returned by the employees in nineteen seperate companies operating in different sectors in Konya Industrial Area, including the first five hundred and the second five hundred largest industrial establishments in Turkey. Factor analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were conducted on the data. The results showed that employees' perceptions of job insecurity is significantly and positively related to their job burnout
