EXAMINING CORRELATION BETWEEN CEIT DEPARTMENT STUDENTS’ 2D/4D FINGER RATIO AND LEARNING STYLE, EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE


The aim of this study is to examine relationship between Computer Education and Instructional Technologies (CEIT) Department Students’ learning style preferences and emotional intelligence and 2D/4D digit ratio to learn about the individual characteristics of students for the design of personalized or adaptable online learning environments. The study was conducted on 88 students (42 female, 46 male) in Firat University, Department of CEIT. Data were collected with students’ hands photos taken by camera, Index of Learning Styles (ILS), developed by Felder and Soloman (2013) and Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale (1998) modified by Austin, Saklofske, Huang and McKenney (2004), adapted by Tatar, Tok and Saltukoğlu (2011). In this study, relational survey model was used. In study, correlation analysis was performed to find the correlation between 2D/4D ratios and emotional intelligence, learning styles. The results showed that there was low level significant difference between the 2D/4D ratios for left/right hand, learning style and emotional intelligence.
