The Emotional Intelligence Inventory was used to collect data. To obtain data on elite athletes’ levels of emotional intelligence, The Turkish version of The Inventory of Emotional Intelligence among Sportsmen and Sportswomen that was validated by Adiloğulları and Görgülü (2015) was used to collect data previously developed by Shutte et al. (1998) and adopted by Lane at al. (2009). The scale consisted of 5 sub-dimension and 19 items. Results showed that there was no statistically significant difference between the levels of emotional intelligence and gender, age, activity durations and branches. On the other hand, it was found that the levels of emotional intelligence significantly differed regarding educational levels.
