There is no doubt that Diyarbakır was one of the cities where the single party economic policies were imlemented widely. Diyarbakır had an important role in terms of its agriculture, trade, industry and farming; however, after World War I and II, financially, Diyarbakır was affected badly and financial activities were about to come to an end. In addition, the attempt of the early years of the Republic, forced immigration and exiles in that city affected the city’s economy badly. Despite these negative conditions, construction of the railway into Diyarbakır, opening of many banks supporting farmers and traders, support of the government for vinegrowing, silk culture and raising livestock in that city provided a renewal in its economy. In this study, through providing information about industry and trade foundations of Diyarbakır in single party period, its financial situation will be presented.
