CONTRIBUTIONS TO “DERLEME SÖZLÜĞÜ” FROM MALATYA

While we were studying on “Malatya İli Ağızları” (Dialects of Malatya Province) we witnessed many words that can be added to Turkish vocabulary. We looked up at “Derleme Sözlüğü” for words that we came across in texts that we’ve gathered. We saw the necessity to sort those words that never mentioned in Derleme Sözlüğü or words that have been added to the Derleme Sözlüğü but has different meanings. We’ve excluded the words that already have beed added to Derleme Sözlüğü and added form Malatya. We encountered too many words in that form. Also we’ve excluded the words that has little difference in writing and pronunciation than words that used in Malatya dialect. For example: In Malatya dialect, “çöorme” < çevirme (to rotate), in Derleme Sözlüğü “çevirme: little garden that surrounded by walls or fences” (We’ve seen the difference in Derleme sözlüğü, çevirme is a verb in first example and it’s a noun in Derleme Sözlüğü’s example). In Derleme Sözlüğü, among gathering places Malatya haven’t been metioned, but provinces around Malatya have been. (Refahiye-Ezc.; Dy.; Kangal-Sv.; Bünyan-Ky.) Our priority is to determine those words that haven’t been mentioned in Derleme Sözlüğü.
