This field of study has become more of an issue since the early seventies. Eco-linguistics, perceives language-society-culture-environment relationship and problems through a framework different from the common, stereotyped, formal one. It supports the idea of a variety in language and culture similar to the one in biology. Similar to plants and animals, language is a natural source. Environmental science (bionomics), puts emphasis on the issue that plants, animals and other elements of nature should be preserved and live in their habitat. Similarly, eco-linguistics mentions the necessity of language, which is as important as plants and animals, being preserved and living in its natural environment. Soma of Kazan Tatarians who had to move to Turkey in the late 19th century settled in the village Osmaniye in Çifteler district of Eskişehir. These Tatarians who had preserved their culture and language for many years had to leave their village and move to cities, especially Eskişehir, due to some reasons such as education, financial difficulties and marriage. Thus, Kazan Tatarian Turkish that had been used effectively in daily life for a long time gave its place to Turkey Turkish. This case can be considered as a loss in terms of eco-linguistics. In this sense, the fact that Kazan Tatarian Turkish is used only by people at a certain age range should be taken into consideration by the ones who are environmentally conscious and especially by Kazan Tatarians.
