The Present Continuous Tense in Verb Processing in Bursa Immigrant Dialects


One of the important centers of the immigrant settlements in Anatolia is Bursa. Immigrants having come to Bursa from different geographies starting from the beginning of the 18th century until the end of the 20th century were settled mainly in the city center and then in the districts of Inegol, Iznik, Gemlik, Karacabey, Mudanya, Mustafakemalpasa, Orhangazi and Yenişehir. Immigrants having come to the region of Bursa came with their cultural richness as well. And the most important of these cultural richness is language. When it is looked from this perspective, it can be stated that Bursa has a rich variety of dialects both with local and immigrant ones. An important one of these dialects is spoken by Balkan immigrants. Especially, many differences are observed in the conjugation of the verbs used by Balkan immigrants. In this article, starting from the compilation and analysis studies carried out within the scope of the project entitled "Compilation and Examination of Bursa Balkan Immigrant Dialects", the present continuous tense in Bursa Balkan immigrant dialects will be discussed.
